Spanish Language Course for Birth Workers

Looking to advance your doula career? Munoz Tutoring Co offers a synchronous online program designed to improve your working knowledge of medical Spanish. Since May 2022 Sarah’s series has supported 100+ birth workers gain more confidence applying medical terms and reviewing Spanish language foundations. Each lesson presents realistic scenarios so that students practice their individual response, followed by immediate instructor feedback.

Hello! My name is Sarah and I am a certified doula. For the past few years I have been supporting families through a birth justice organization in my community: Chicago Volunteer Doulas. I also volunteer with SoKAna Collective which promotes a safer space for community, education & togetherness for all things pregnancy and postpartum.

My transition to this calling as a doula led to the formation of groups of birth workers seeking language support. My goal is for this Spanish program to open up doula care for the Spanish-speaking community. I look forward to meeting you and enhancing your oral proficiency!

As a birth worker myself, I know the need and great impact of a doula able to support Spanish-speaking families. I believe that gaining confidence in your Spanish communication skills will strengthen your impact as a birth worker.

Enhance Your Doula Practice with a Toolbox of Essential Spanish Phrases to Provide Prenatal, Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum Support

What does Sarah’s program offer?

  • Repetition

    Consistent repetition of high frequency words needed for engagement with a Spanish-speaking clients in a healthcare setting.

  • Healthcare Terminology

    Practice specific phrases, terms, and questions essential for prenatal wellness visits and discussing birth preferences.

  • Monthly Support

    Upon completion of this course students have monthly access to birth worker Spanish language review sessions offered on the 1st of each month.

You can register doulas in your collective for a private group Spanish lesson. You choose the lesson focus of prenatal, labor and delivery and/or postpartum doula care classes.
